Chapter 3: The Lonely Barrow
Tomb of the Barbarian King
Chapter Synopsis & GM Prep Notes
The Stolen Lands conceal many ancient secrets, but few are as foreboding as the Lonely Barrow. While exploring the Kamelands, adventurers might stumble upon a lonely grassy hill concealing a dark, rocky fissure—the entrance to a forgotten barbarian king's tomb. Before even reaching the barrow, the wilderness presents its own dangers, from Munguk's giant camp and a sordid troll lair to an overgrown abandoned ferry station and a hidden owlbear den.
Inside the barrow, darkness and ancient dust choke the air. The octagonal entrance leads into a central chamber where four monstrous stone faces represent the winds. Venturing further, the party will encounter crypts guarded by silent skeletal warriors, trap-laden corridors, and finally, the desecrated tomb of the barbarian warlord himself, still gripping his legendary sword in death.
