This vertical, multi-layered deep-sea map plunges players into the terrifying darkness of the pelagic and abyssal zones. The centerpiece is a colossal, faintly glowing communication cable that serves as both a navigational lifeline and a dangerous structural obstacle. The surrounding water is completely pitch black, making dynamic VTT lighting essential to build tension as players rely on submarine floodlights or suit-mounted flashlights to spot threats before it's too late. Tactical combat here relies heavily on 3D movement and line of sight. The massive cable provides the only substantial hard cover against high-velocity underwater projectiles. Automated drones patrol fixed routes around the junction points, while the open water leaves players vulnerable to ambushes from the mechanical monstrosity native to these depths. GMs can utilize the total darkness to mask enemy tokens, forcing players to manage their limited light sources and oxygen levels under extreme pressure.
